Aim of the course
This course is aimed at improving the skills of participants for managing the
sustainability reporting process, and sharpening their skills to contribute to the
report. By doing so, their ability to assess and evaluate sustainability reports will
also be enhanced.
Course outline The course covers the
following topics:
- Conceptual introduction to sustainability reporting
- Planning the sustainability reporting process
- Engaging with stakeholders and enhancing the credibility of the sustainability
reporting process
- Defining the content of the sustainability report
- Monitoring information for inclusion in the sustainability report
- Final preparation and communication of the sustainability report
What does the course entail?
The two-day course will consist of interactive presentations and discussions
of all aspects of sustainability reporting, and group discussions on specific topics.
Participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences with and so learn from
each other, and from best practice sustainability reports that will be used as examples.
You will be able build up or extend your network of fellow practitioners in this field.
A post-course assignment for the evaluation of a best practice South African
sustainability report rounds off the course.

Who should attend?
Participants from organisations that do already publish sustainability reports as well
as from organisations that are planning to go this route will benefit from the programme.
This includes sustainability managers, environmental managers, accountants, communications
staff, and other personnel involved in contributing to and compiling sustainability reports,
managers overseeing the sustainability reporting process, internal auditors,
consultants involved in stakeholder engagement processes, preparing sustainability
reports, external assurance of sustainability reports, and evaluation of sustainability
reports, and users of sustainability reports.
International Certificate and other recognition The course programme has been certified by the Global Reporting
Initiative. On successful completion of the course, participants will receive an
international certificate directly from the Global Reporting Initiative. This workshop may earn up to 12 hours verifiable CPD for members of SAICA and other accounting bodies.
Course Fee
A course fee of R 6,600.00 plus VAT is payable with registration. Members of Organisational Stakeholders of the GRI are entitled to a 10% discount.

Registration and Payment
Registrations will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis. A maximum of 20 participants
will be accommodated per course. Participants who register in excess of the first twenty will
receive priority for the next course. On registration, participants will receive a Tax Invoice.
